Hygiene: Atkins Diet
June 20th, 2008The Atkins diet has become extremely popular in the last several years and does not seem to be slowing down at all. Interestingly enough, this diet has had such an impact on peoples lives that it has translated to companies that provide some of the food products that the diet advises people to avoid. In 2003, bread companies met in order to discuss solutions to the losses they were seeing because of the number of people who were no longer using their products, presumably because of the number of people on the Atkins diet.
One of the things that people enjoy the most about this diet is that it allows individuals to eat many of the foods that they enjoy. People who love to eat dairy products, meat and other sources of protein will enjoy this diet. Some are seeing truly remarkable results as the weight they have struggled to lose for years is rapidly disappearing from their frame.
How the Atkins Diet Works
People who are using the diet named after the doctor who created it should know that it requires a life long change in eating habits. Basically, the diet is designed to cause the body to burn the fat that has stored up over time in order to provide the energy needed to perform the daily functions of the body. This is because the carbs that usually provide quick access to energy are no long present in the body and it has to find the energy from somewhere.
The amount of fat that will be burned will increase if an individual adds an amount of exercise to their life as well. This increase in the need for energy causes the body to find it in the stored fat cells, increasing weight loss. There are several different phases of the diet that will allow for a healthy lifestyle for years to come.
